Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship Awards
Each year, the University of Delaware chapter of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society invites applications from outstanding senior students for a Graduate Fellowship for first year graduate or professional study. The national office generally awards two scholarships of $35,000, six scholarships of $20,000, and 50 scholarships of $8,500.
Our chapter may nominate only one student for consideration by the national Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship Committee. However, we choose both a nominee and a runner-up. If our nominee does win a national fellowship, our runner-up wins a chapter award of $1,000. If our nominee does not win a national fellowship, the chapter award is divided between the nominee and the runner-up.
In the selection process, in addition to scholastic achievement and test scores, primary consideration is given to the applicant’s promise of success in graduate or professional work, experience (including academic, civic service and leadership outside of the classroom), evaluation by instructors, and expression of study and career goals.
UD applicants must complete a full application; materials are available on the national Phi Kappa Phi website. All application materials must be submitted by Monday, March 14 at 5 p.m. Applicants must be active dues paid members of the UD Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi or must accept their invitation to join which is sent the second or third week of March. Chapter winner and runner-up must be available to attend the Phi Kappa Phi Induction Zoom ceremony on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 5:00 p.m..
If you have additional questions about the program, please contact: Ms. Susan Serra, at serra@udel.edu.
