Professor Carla Guerrón Montero, Anthropology, was awarded a 2019 National Love of Learning Award to attend the 7th International Conference “Why the World Needs Anthropologists” in Oslo Norway ( October 25-27, 2019). This conference is organized by the Applied Anthropology Network (AAN) of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA), and it brings together more than 400 anthropologists from Europe and beyond to discuss issues of global concern. Dr. Guerrón Montero is a member of the Advisory Board for this conference since 2015 and the United States Liaison to the AAN since 2016.
The national awards help fund professional development for active Phi Kappa Phi members. Two hundred awards, at $500 each, are distributed each year.
